Radio BGM (as we know it today) first started life as L.H.B.S – the Llanelli Hospital Broadcasting Service – way back in 1973, from the old geriatric hospital at Bryntirion Hospital.
From day one, our mission was clear – to lend a local voice and to be a friend for the bed-ridden patients on the issues and events that matter to them.
Twenty years later, in 1990, we moved into our current home in the main entrance at Llanelli’s Prince Philip Hospital. We’re very proud to have played a part in some of the amazing success stories that happen there every
single day, and are very grateful to them for their continued support.
In more recent years, the hard work of so many of our members has been rewarded – in 2019 we won the Hospital Broadcasting Association’s “Best Special Event” award for our coverage of the NHS 70th birthday celebrations,
and we hope to win even more awards in the future.
