On World Cancer Day, Radio BGM was proud to partner with some of the UK’s leading cancer charities to deliver a full day of trusted advice, information, and support for our listeners.
From 10am to 4pm, we broadcast a series of special interviews and features designed to raise awareness of some of the most common cancers, while providing reassurance and guidance to anyone affected — whether personally or through a loved one.
Throughout the day, we were joined by representatives from several respected national charities, including:
- Prostate Cancer UK
- Against Breast Cancer
- British Skin Foundation
- Bowel Cancer UK
- British Liver Trust
- Pancreatic Cancer UK
- Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation
Each organisation shared expert insight, highlighted important symptoms to be aware of, and discussed the support available to patients and families.
Special Q&A with Tenovus Cancer Care
A key highlight of the day was our dedicated World Cancer Day Q&A programme, delivered in partnership with Tenovus Cancer Care. The live session gave listeners the opportunity to hear directly from cancer support specialists, who answered important questions and offered practical advice, emotional support, and reassurance.
The programme reflected Radio BGM’s ongoing commitment to supporting the wellbeing of patients, staff, and the wider community — not just through entertainment, but through meaningful conversations and access to reliable information.
Listen Back on Radio BGM Again
If you missed any of the interviews or would like to listen again, you can catch up anytime on Radio BGM Again, our listen-again service. It’s a great way to revisit the expert advice and important discussions shared throughout World Cancer Day.
We’d like to thank all the charities and representatives who took part, and everyone who listened and engaged with the broadcast. Together, we helped raise awareness and ensured our listeners had access to vital information and support.
